Reminder about taking photographs or videoing of games
We have received a couple of questions/complaints about clubs videoing or taking photographs at matches without the gaining the permission of the opposing team. Although this has been referred to the East League Committee clubs will take the point that this kind of issue could arise in any game (a pre-season friendly, a school game, a youth cup competition or a senior cup competition) in any part of the country.
To this end England Hockey have the following guidelines on best practice that ALL clubs should observe http://www.englandhockey.co.uk/page.asp?section=1785§ionTitle=Best+Practice+Guidance
Basically, it is a common courtesy if you are intending to video or take photo's of a match to gain permission of the opposing club prior to the game taking place, and in gaining permission the subject should not be presented as a "fait au complet" but should be a sincere request and if the request is declined the decision of the opposing club should be respected.
